ITSS provides central information technology (IT) services for UND including help center, network, servers and database administration, technology support, communications infrastructure, telephone, classroom technology, Blackboard, faculty workshops and graphic design. In addition to the UND services, it also plays a key role in the North Dakota University System services including the Online Dakota Information Network (ODIN), ConnectND (PeopleSoft and ancillary systems), help desk and wide area networking. ITSS is comprised of Support Services, Technical Services and IT Security.
ITSS Support Services provides primary information technology (IT) support for UND. This support includes desktop hardware and software, e-mail and web based applications, campus software licensing and associated training. The help desk provides front line IT support for UND and NDUS students, faculty and staff in a variety of areas. Telecommunications provides administrative and student telephone services.
ITSS Technical Services administer and support a datacenter for NDUS and UND applications. These applications include student system, ancillary systems, statewide library system, e-mail systems, and web services. Technical Services also provides campus networking and cable infrastructure.
IT Security works with the entire UND community to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our critical information and computer resources. Implements and advances secure computing practices with sensitivity to UND's educational environment which promotes academic and intellectual freedom, diversity, privacy, and individual rights.
